Exchange Process Mapping Dialog
When the first ReqIF is added to an Exchange Process Timeline, the ReqIF schema is analyzed in order to determine whether the attributes required by the Exchange Process are defined. In many cases, REQIFtoolkit is able to do this without any user intervention. For example, it may be that the recommendations for attribute names have been followed precisely and all required attributes have been verified to be present in the schema.
Since it is acceptable for the names to be different from the recommendation, then provided that attributes that serve identical purposes to the required attributes have been defined in the ReqIF, the Exchange Process Mapping Dialog can be used to assign them.
For the required customer and supplier status enumeration attributes, the Exchange Process Mapping Dialog can already pre-assign these as they can be resolved by analyzing the individual enumeration values and comparing them to the required status enumerations.
For the required customer and supplier comment attributes, these can be more difficult to pre-assign and the Exchange Process Mapping Dialog should be used to assign these.
If, when adding the first ReqIF, all required attributes can be automatically assigned then the Exchange Process Mapping Dialog is not shown but you can always open it by selecting the first ReqIF in any Exchange Process Timeline and then selecting the Maintain Mapping... option from the popup menu.
The Exchange Process Mapping Dialog will still be shown however, if your ReqIF contains more than one specification. This is to allow you to select the specification for your timeline.
